Fall River Conservation Commission approves two home-building orders of conditions, tables five wetlands filings.
Conservation Commission · Meeting of October 5, 2026
Fall River Conservation Commission approves two home-building orders of conditions, tables five wetlands filings. The board, with member Luis Ferreira absent, unanimously approved construction orders for a new single-family home on Archer Street and a house rebuild with septic upgrade at 1166 Wood Street, both conditioned on separate city site plan review approval. Resident Karen Norysewicz told the board she worried new runoff "effect on the sewer line" could worsen existing problems on Archer Street; engineer Alexander Kordisky said a crushed-stone dry well would capture rooftop runoff before it reached the street.
Engineer Gregory Drake said the Wood Street rebuild would be "about 100 square feet less" than the existing house and require Board of Health sign-off on a 2,000-gallon pumped septic system. The board also tabled a National Grid transmission-line review along Sky Road specifically to November and left four other pending filings, including a Jefferson Street gas-main project and a Shaw Street seawall repair, unresolved.
