Library Adds Museum Passes, Digital Newspaper Archive

FALL RIVER — The Fall River Public Library has broadened its free cultural offerings for residents, adding two new museum passes and opening online access to more than five decades of the city's historic newspaper.

The Fall River Public Library added Norman Bird Sanctuary in Middletown, Rhode Island, and the House of the Seven Gables in Salem to its collection of free and reduced-rate museum passes, which cardholders can reserve online for a range of aquariums, historic sites, museums, parks and zoos. The library also announced it now offers online access to the Fall River Herald News from 1926 to 1979 through its growing local history collection, alongside historical maps, yearbooks and city directories. Separately, the library said it has added Transparent Language, a free language-learning research database, to its digital offerings.
