Fall River Public Library Opens on Summer Schedule, Saturdays Closed Through Labor Day

The Fall River Public Library shifted to its summer schedule this week, trimming Saturday hours and adjusting Friday closings through Labor Day, the single concrete change from local sources in today's cycle.

The library's summer hours — in effect from mid-June through Labor Day — run Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays are closed for the season. Residents who rely on weekend visits should plan accordingly.

The library also recently added two new museum passes to its collection: the Norman Bird Sanctuary in Middletown, R.I., and the House of the Seven Gables in Salem. Both are available to reserve through the library's online booking page at fallriverlibrary.org. The full pass catalog covers aquariums, historic sites, parks, and zoos.

Also new at the library: online access to the Fall River Herald News archive spanning 1926 to 1979, now part of the library's growing local history digital collection alongside historical maps, yearbooks, and city directories.
