Fall River Library Opens Summer Hours, Adds Two New Museum Passes

The city enters the heart of summer with no urgent press releases from Town Hall and the public library shifting to its warm-weather schedule, a low-key Thursday that nonetheless carries a handful of standing resources residents should keep on their radar.

No new News Flash items landed from the city in this reporting window. Standing advisories already in circulation include the 2026 paint disposal schedule, the ongoing Columbia Street one-way conversion between Broadway and Milliken Boulevard, and the Route 79–Davol Street corridor improvement project. COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Fall River Public Library has moved to its summer schedule, now in effect from mid-June through Labor Day. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library is closed Saturdays for the summer.

Two new museum passes are now available through the library's booking program: the Norman Bird Sanctuary in Middletown, R.I., and the House of the Seven Gables in Salem. Those join the library's existing lineup of free or reduced-rate passes to aquariums, historic sites, museums, and zoos. Passes can be reserved online through the library's Museum Passes page.

Also new at the library: online access to the Fall River Herald News from 1926 through 1979, now part of the library's growing local history digital archive, which also includes historical maps, yearbooks, and city directories.
