Fall River Firefighter, Army Veteran Vanasse Dies at 93
FALL RIVER — Thomas Vanasse, a longtime Fall River firefighter who also served decades in the U.S. Army, has died at 93, according to a Fall River Reporter obituary published this week. The city, meanwhile, is preparing to close its Lewiston Street DPW garage for construction starting Monday.

The city's Department of Public Works garage at 10 Lewiston Street will close Monday, August 31, for construction, the city said in a News Flash notice posted to its website.
